Adventure Camps run 9am–5pm, Monday through Friday

Inspired by Nature + Meet Local Artists
There is more than one way to remember a great week of camp. Why not drum a song, write a skit, make a statue, or take a picture? Explore music, improv, painting, sculpture, digital photography, and more. We supply all of the equipment you will need to create individual works of art. Visit your favorite places at KNC, watch the wildlife, and get inspired!

Working with Wildlife + Zoo Experience
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in a zoo, hold a wild bird, or feed a hawk? This week you can get closer to wildlife than you ever have before. Discover how people in our area are helping animals every day. Highlights include trips to Binder Park Zoo, Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the animals at the Nature Center!

Making a Splash + Fishing and Canoe Trips
Water is everywhere, so let’s enjoy it! Sharpen your canoe skills and take a trip down the Kalamazoo River. Enjoy catch-and-release fishing, meet an expert fisherman, and learn to tie your own flies. Study what makes a healthy habitat and visit scientists at the Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery.

ALL Extreme Camps include an overnight camping component

Survival Sense + One Overnight
Would you know what to do if you found yourself alone in the woods like the characters of Hatchet, Tracker, or My Side of the Mountain? Learn advanced outdoor techniques like shelter and fire building, orienteering, and GPS navigation. Test your resourcefulness and gain a good sense of yourself and your surroundings. Join us as we learn the skills that will help us feel comfortable in the wild during this crash course in survival!

Adventure Skills + One Overnight, Canoe, and Climb
Don’t climb the walls at home this summer—come explore the Nature Center! Learn the survival and camping skills that it takes to have a real adventure. Practice safety, knots, and rock-climbing etiquette at Climb Kalamazoo. Dust off your paddle and take a canoe trip down the Kalamazoo River. Go wild with the wildlife and get ready for adventure!
