Summer Camp 2008 Summer Camp 2008 Minimize
MY FIRST NATURE CAMP at the KALAMAZOO NATURE CENTER
 
3-YEAR-OLDS WITH PARENT/GUARDIAN • 9am–NOON
  • Must be 3 by June 1.
  • All programs include snack, art, activities, and exploration walks in nature.

Sign up for one, two, three or more days this summer
$25/day Member; $30/day Non-Member

Miss Kara will be joining the camp staff this summer! Kara Haas is KNC’s Public Programs and Exhibits Director, and was awarded the Outstanding New Interpreter Award from the National Association of Interpretation in 2007. She loves working with preschoolers and their families, and will make every My First Nature Camp memorable, safe and oh, so FUN!
 
JUNE

Frogs in a Pond
Jump into the life of a frog and see how this slimy little animal is important in making a pond a POND.

Down on a Farm
Old McDonald had a farm…you know the rest. We will explore the animals that call the barn their home and discover how important they are to our lives.

Nature’s Feathered Flyers
Birds are fun to watch. They fly, they are colorful, and they come from an egg. Let the fun soar as we learn about the life of birds.

The Butterfly Garden
Put on your wings! We’ll explore the gardens through the eyes of a butterfly, learning about flowers, colors, predators, and more.

Reptile Round-up
We’ll lasso some turtles and snakes, the dwellers of woods and waters, to teach us about being scaly and cold-blooded.

My Michigan Mammals
They are all shapes, sizes, and furry too. Mammals of Michigan are adapted to hot and cold weather and everything in between.

AUGUST

Tree-Mendous
Trees are so amazing that many stories have been written about them. Explore trees of all types and visit the most unusual tree at the Nature Center to hear a story INSIDE the tree.

Who’s Who in the Night
Pretend to be out on a night-time stroll and discover nocturnal animals at work. Owls, raccoons, mice, bats, and others will be wide awake. To learn more, come see who’s who.

Creepy Crawlies
You never have to look too far to find insects, roly-polys, or spiders. We will investigate the lives of the many-legged animals that share our world and sometimes our homes.

Summer Camp Refund & Cancellation Policy Minimize

NO refunds or cancellations within two weeks (10 business days) of the camp’s start date. A $50 processing fee will be charged for any cancellation prior to two weeks before a camp’s start date. If you are cancelling a 3-year-old camp such as “My First Nature Camp” prior to two weeks before the camp’s start date, a $10 processing fee for each day cancelled will be charged. There is no fee for switching to another available camp of the same price in the current camp season. If prices differ, you will need to pay the difference or we will refund or credit you the difference.
