Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!
Invite the Kalamazoo Nature Center to your school!
This year is full of opportunities for the Kalamazoo Nature Center to visit your classroom. We provide quality environmental education programs based upon the Michigan State Benchmarks as a supplement to your curriculum. Our staff will conduct programs within your classroom or at a local park or habitat appropriate to your curriculum. Just click below the cover of our brochure to the right for complete program descriptions.
The Outreach staff looks at the material to be presented and applies the best teaching methods for each program. This may include hands-on activities, audience participation, character portrayal, puppetry, storytelling, songs, drama, live animals, artifacts and other proven teaching methods. For more than twelve years, I have witnessed these methods result in memorable, fun learning experiences for teachers and their students all over Southwest Michigan. I look forward to your phone call (or click here to email me) so we may begin or continue your experience of connecting to nature from the Kalamazoo Nature Center!
