Public Programs at Kalamazoo Nature Center Minimize

     The Kalamazoo Nature Center features dozens of public programs each month for all ages, in addition to our 11 miles of hiking trails and indoor and outdoor exhibits. The whole family will enjoy our regular family program every Sunday at 2:00pm. There is always something to do at KNC.  Check out the monthly calendar for the latest program information.

Join birding enthusiasts, Haley Breniser and Sarah Reding, on a road trip to one of the premier birdwatching spots in the country.  Crane Creek State Park is located on the south shore of Lake Erie.  A vast number of migratory birds funnel thorugh this wetland area in May, using it as a refuge to refuel before making the journey across Lake Erie to Canada.  The shrubby swamp forest and coastal marsh habitat make for an opportune viewing site for the most elusive avian wonders.  Adults only please, Transportation, lodging and meals are included.

Spend a weekend at the Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center.  We'll sleep in cabins, eat our meals family style in the dining hall and enjoy learning about the dunes as we explore our surroundings.  The Indiana Dunes Envrionmental Learning Center is located in the heart of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore (www.nps.gov/indu).  Our accomodations are moder cabins with air conditioning and private baths. Highlights include naturalist lead activities and games, campfires, dune hikes, star gazing, free time on the beach and exploration of the historic Chellburg Farm and Bailey Homestead.  Best of all, you'll have an unforgetable weekend of fun with your whole family. We'll caravan for the two hour trip from KNC. All meals and accomodations are provided.

 Just for Adults 55 and over!  Meet and mingle while we learn about the many wonders of nature!  Bring your lunch and a friend!  We’ll spend an hour outside exploring, then we’ll discuss while enjoying our brown bag lunches together.  We meet the last Tuesday of each month between 11:00 and 12:30,  Meet at KNC Interpretive Center's Tree Top unless otherwise indicated.
