                  Childs Eyes Close Up

Focus on Education-Our Place
2009-2010 School Programs at KNC!

Bring your class to the Kalamazoo Nature Center for a great educational experience.

All of our classes help achieve Michigan State Science Objectives and some Social Studies Objectives. Your students can learn about life cycles by exploring a forest and finding seedlings, saplings, forest giants and fallen logs. They can learn about Michigan’s geological history by collecting fossils and water worn granite pebbles from the side of a huge moraine. Local history comes to life for students who experience what it is like to do chores at a log cabin or in a Potawatomi garden. Our natural history program is exciting, entertaining and educational for all ages. We encourage groups to come for the entire day for programs and/or self-guided learning.

We will work with teachers to design a special program or to develop activities for self-guided groups.
