Summary of Position:
Overview: Provide the highest quality customer service as key team member for Member and Guest Services. Provide membership sales, Expedition Gift Shop support, data entry and service for KNC programs.  Promote the mission of KNC.  This is an hourly, part-time work position with weekend hours expected.
 

Weekend Facilities/Grounds Staff

Summary of Position: 
The Weekend Facilities/Grounds Staff is responsible for opening and closing the Nature Center facilities, cleaning the Interpretive Center and other facilities and grounds as needed and setting up rooms for weekend programs.  This position will support the KNC programs by carrying out the duties listed below. Immediate opening.  Approx. 16 hours/week.  Salary: $7.50/hour
Responsibilities:  
Open and close facilities, provide a clean and safe environment for visitors and staff, assist other KNC weekend staff, set up for events and programs.
Qualifications: 
Must have good communication and customer service skills; able to work weekends and 3 holidays.

Gate House Host

Summary of Position:  
The Gate House Host is responsible for providing the highest customer service as our first point of contact with the public through collecting admissions, greeting visitors, promoting memberships and answering questions knowledgeably about the Nature Center.  This is a seasonal, hourly, part-time position with weekend hours expected.
Gate House is operational weekends and some evenings starting in April. It is open 7 days a week, June 1 – August 31. At the end of the season, it is open weekends and some evenings in September and October.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Teach, guide and supervise day campers of all abilities, ages 3-17. You will be asked to work with a specific age group for most of the summer.
  2. Provide an example of a model counselor on a consistent basis.
  3. Help all to be included and feel accepted by encouraging participation of all.
  4. Prepare, and execute quality environmental science programs.
  5. Communicate consistently with supervisors about group life and camper situations.
  6. Work well under pressure and stay calm. Be confident in self to make decisions.
  7. Supervise Junior Educators and volunteers.
  8. Ensure health and safety of camp participants and staff. 
  9. Be versed in and demonstrate KNC’s customer standards at all times.
  10. Be willing to work with others in a supportive, friendly manner.
  11. Maintain flexible work schedule, which may include overnight camp-outs and bus route supervision.
