The Timber-Framed Barn, built in 1998, with all the care and detail of an 19^th century barn, is a focal point for special events and activities here at the Kalamazoo Nature Center.  The lower level of the barn features a variety of farm animals providing an educational experience for young and old alike on how farming and animal husbandry was and is closely linked to our environment.  Upstairs the spacious building provides ample room for receptions, picnics, etc.  The vaulted ceiling with its hewn beams, along with the oversized doors and windows create an airy cool room perfect for a variety of events.  The Barn is an excellent location for weddings, family reunions, and company picnics.  Audience seating up to 360 people or banquet up to 160, the upper level features a large covered space overlooking a lawn, providing plenty of space both inside and out.
